Why we built this
Choosing business software should not require a spreadsheet, three sales calls, and a leap of faith. We started CostChoicesbecause we kept running into the same problem: pricing pages are confusing, “it depends” is not a helpful answer, and most comparison sites are thinly-veiled affiliate funnels that rank whoever pays the highest commission.
We wanted something different — free tools that give you realistic cost ranges upfront, honest comparisons that explain trade-offs instead of picking winners, and guides that respect your time and intelligence.
What we do
CostChoices publishes free calculators, head-to-head comparisons, and cost guides for small businesses and creators. Every tool is built around the same principles:
- Transparency first. Our assumptions are documented and editable. We show you the math, not just the answer.
- No signup required. Use the tools for free, right in your browser. No email gates, no "download the PDF" tricks.
- Independent editorial. Comparisons and scoring follow a published methodology — not affiliate payouts.
- Honest about limitations. These are estimates, not quotes. We say so clearly, and we tell you to verify before you buy.
